Why College Courses Are So Well Accepted

You’re much better off learning from a specialist than a generalist.

Many education providers focused on maximising sales deliver many courses in a variety of different areas. This may work for them commercially, but it can also jeopardise the quality of training.

Just think about it, in most instances they have the same people develop courses in areas as diverse as Business, IT, Administration, Travel, and Child Care. It’s just not possible (in our opinion) for these generalists to create courses requiring specific knowledge and experience to the same standard as a specialist.

The College specialises in training counsellors. It’s all we’ve done for over 17 years. This gives us a very unique insight into the industry. And it translates into highly applicable training.

College courses are developed by a team of qualified and experienced professionals. We’ve refined our programs over 17 years, implementing pioneering training techniques, and integrating enormous amounts of feedback.

Part of our mission is to continue to research and develop ways to enhance your skills as a professional. Each year the College dedicates an enormous amount of time and resources to ensure our training is the most up to date, professional, applicable training of its kind in Australia.

We recognise that if we are to evolve as better professionals, our education programs must also evolve to be consistent with the environment in which we live and work. By maintaining the currency and relevance of our training, we guarantee the value of the services our graduates are able to provide clients and those around them.

Aimee McManus accoladeIt is with gratitude that I take this opportunity to thank the College for providing a comprehensive counselling course that has built the foundations for a successful future. I commenced with nursing in 1998 but changed to early childhood teaching the following year. While pre-school teaching, I encountered many situations with children and families where I felt the desire to give more to the community, to assist people to work through their difficulties and achieve ultimate happiness within their lives. In early 2003, I enquired with a number of universities and other educational institutes as to how I could fulfill this goal of counselling children and families. The College provided the most suitable course to suit my needs, that being a broad coverage of general counselling areas, the option to specialise in Child Development and Effective Parenting, be able to study from home around my work hours and provide educational support via the telephone.

Barbara Cross accoladeBefore I tell you about my journey I would like to send my sincere thanks to the wonderful team at the College's Student Support Centre. The team was always there with encouragement, and advice on how to keep on track with my studies. Hearing a friendly and helpful voice on the other end of the line when I was feeling frustrated and alone really enabled me to keep on track and move forward with my studies. Well what a journey.

Davina Gleeson accoladeI never thought I'd be writing my own success story, just like the one's I read at the beginning of my studies. About halfway through the Diploma we were living on a remote island and experienced a traumatic house fire that destroyed ninety percent of our possessions; photo's, books, personal documents, clothes. However, I willingly chose to continue my studies as it enabled me to focus on the future and move forward.
